Romantic Winter Tress

A new season means new hair and for Autumn/Winter '09, its all about romantic twists and curls!

Proenza Schouler's spring 09 collection featured sexy Veronica Lake-like waves with a modern spin, the hair team used the ghd IV Styler and the brand's Sea Spray to create the models' loose, marcel-style waves. Balanced with neutral eyes and strong bold matte lips, this look denotes a strong woman who is an iron fist in a velvet glove. To view more glamour click me or learn how to make waves here.

However, there was a growing trend of buns and french rolls all over the runway from all the major fashion houses, a look that I absolutely adored. The Louis Vutton Ready-to-Wear Fall 09 runway showcased tousled romantic buns done up with extra volume. The elegance of the hair with vixen cat eyes and nude lips showed modesty and complemented the 80's themed playful homage to Christian Lacroix.

How to: Recreating French Rolls
  1. Blow-dry hair to remove all moisture, then loosely spritz with a heat protectant, we suggest TRESemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray rrp $12
  2. Grab your curling iron or ghd iv styler and create loose bouncy curls
  3. Pull up the hair into a very sexy but loose French roll, and secure with bobby pins
  4. Randomly pull pieces of hair around the face to soften and create romance
  5. Spray, very lightly, some hairspray, try schwarzkopf got2b hairspray - smells great and has a medium hold
  6. Keep face fresh with soft peach cheeks, pale taupe washed eyes and nude lips

Would love to see everyone's take with this look! I'll post some photos of my attempt soon!

Til next time,
