I think many of you fashionistas have been wondering who does that song in the V Australia ad!
Meet Miss Micky Green, born in the great Oz however now residing in one of fashionable cities of the world, Paris. This Missy has a voice that is reminiscent of the days of the sweet sweet 60's, strong and feminine - making me wish could sing with such a sexy smoothness. Although the song is a few years old - its still sounds fresh especially with a remix update making it a great chill out sunday arvo song.
Love,
Miss L

Sachi Take 2
They say imitation is the best form of flattery... after all to inspire minions (be it products or actual fellow females) implies a higher sense of style and understanding of knowing what others want- why it's what you have....

Take my birthday shoes as a very good example. Black, simple, patent and silk strappy and ofcourse the stylish and quiet affordable Sachi heels, rrp$150.00.

Imagine my suprise when i found how can i kindly put it these Sachi inspired shoes... Exactly the same, the patent mixed with satin straps, the way they wrap around my tiny feet and ankles... for a mere... $15
The only thing missing was the metal strap around the stilleto heel of my shoe, with the word SACHI inscribe on it. Other than that in the blink of an eye you wouldn't even notice the difference!
So imitation is not after all only for the rich, luxurious brands... it's for everything... even well, us... we are inspired by others on a daily basis- from people we see on the street to celebrities... and no need to mention who the most copied female is- Miss Moss.... After all i've incorporated her effortless shorts with midnight opaque pantyhose look in my life on a regular basis...
On a more serious note- i have indulged in imitation goods on my precarious trips to Asia and what not- it's tempted most of us (besides the extremely wealthy who have thousands to spare on a Chanel Envelope). However the following article really struck a cord with me and i would like to share it with you, it was in Harpers Bazaar months ago- but i'll never forget it

Holeey Monday
I have been one far from prudent from the sight of holes in my clothing. In fact, I cherish the odd hole here and there, there's a certain fascination about ravaged clothing. The story each hole tells and the simple nostalgic feeling that floods though when you come back to that hole, caress and smile. For instance, I remember sitting in the library at uni one afternoon with Miss C, whilst trying to force ourselves to study. I grabbed a pair of scissors, with a lot of effort, started to try and rip and fray a hole in my first ever pair of black skinny legs. The look of horror on Miss C's face quickly changing to help me out while other students look on at us in fascination and shook their heads.
Every time I pop on those jeans or come across it - I think of the time when we were both 19, our head still stuck in the clouds trying to figure out our lives. Studying things that we never had the chance to put to use but having a ball ripping those silly holes at the knees of my jeans.
I recently came across a jumper, left, by Mink Pink (yes i know we talk waaaay too much about them!) full of holes and stripes. I knew i wanted it instantly... but hesitated because of the unfortunate state of my bank account. Miss C even tried to track it down for me as a birthday gift - but no such luck! I finally found it on the Freez Clothing website (http://www.freez.com.au) snapping it up after search high and low after a good month. With pre-made holes - its a perfect match with my holey jeans and dr martens - channeling a very bonni&clyde indie rock look without the knives.much love,
Miss L

Happily Ever After
Once upon a time I dreamt of a knight in shining armour, a beautiful castle and of course my very own happy ending… the illusion of happily ever after was not a dream but a reality in the fairytales that have lived on for what has felt like eternity.
Fairy tales have evolved- the meaning of happily ever after has transcended the simple notion of falling in love with the ONE. Although childlike animation is now filled with talking fish, bugs, robots and what not- the concept of good triumphing over evil remains.
... alluding to the romance of a castle far far away is Disney Couture - I recently received my invitation to the ball (Kidada for Disney Couture)- I fell in love with it the moment I touched it in luxe boutique Pitt St! – this place is amazing, if your after vintage, house of Harlow (Nicole Richie’s jewellery line- but more on that later *wink) and Disney couture

… and though it has been around for a while now- The necklace is as timeless as the fairytale that inspired its creation…
...I think we can all remember the classic fairy tales that have inspired the generations before and although they are now being surpassed by the comical likes of humorous pixar creations, they are still evident in many designs...

* Peter Alexander nightgows ($69.00) reminds me just of Snow white and her striking red lips and midnight black hair- i heard they were stocking in new colours, though i fell in love with the royal blue at first site. To see more of his sweet designs, visit: http://www.peteralexander.com.au/
... And they lived happily ever after…
Yours forever,
Miss C

YEAH! IT'S BLITZ!
It's finally here! The Yeah Yeah Yeah's third album IT'S BLITZ has finally hit the good ol' shelves, and this New York based band has once again produced music that you could pop on repeat and keep danging to all night long!
It's been three long years since the days of dancing to Gold Lion from the last album Show Your Bones, but now I'm finding myself doing random mini 'frogs in a blender' dances and mini outbursts of 'OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! DANCE TIL WE'RE DEAD!' with Miss Louise all over the office at work and embarrassingly all along Willoughby road in Crows Nest.
My 3 favourite songs off the album definitely have to be...
Dance dance dance!

Miss L

DANCE TIL WE'RE DEAD!' with Miss Louise all over the office at work and embarrassingly all along Willoughby road in Crows Nest.
My 3 favourite songs off the album definitely have to be...
- Heads Will Roll (track 2) - Dance Heavy
- Soft Shock (track 3) - Failed Relationship
- Hysteric (track 9) - Happiness Again
Now, I could have talked about producers and all that stuff - though I did find out that the album was 'inspired by the '70s disco collaborations between Italian producer Giorgio Moroder and R&B songstress Donna Summer, Joy Division, and, well, Karen O's love of dancing' - but unless you're a total music critic and know your piece of the pie - that stuff's not really important cause at the end of the day you just want to listen to the music!
Buy It's Blitz online now at JB Hi-Fi or on iTunes!
If you need extra justification, pop on your dancing shoes and listen to Heads Will Roll!
Dance dance dance!

Romantic Winter Tress
Proenza Schouler's spring 09 collection featured sexy Veronica Lake-like waves with a modern spin, the hair team used the ghd IV Styler and the brand's Sea Spray to create the models' loose, marcel-style waves. Balanced with neutral eyes and strong bold matte lips, this look denotes a strong woman who is an iron fist in a velvet glove. To view more glamour click me or learn how to make waves here.
However, there was a growing trend of buns and french rolls all over the runway from all the major fashion houses, a look that I absolutely adored. The Louis Vutton Ready-to-Wear Fall 09 runway showcased tousled romantic buns done up with extra volume. The elegance of the hair with vixen cat eyes and nude lips showed modesty and complemented the 80's themed playful homage to Christian Lacroix.
How to: Recreating French Rolls
- Blow-dry hair to remove all moisture, then loosely spritz with a heat protectant, we suggest TRESemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray rrp $12
- Grab your curling iron or ghd iv styler and create loose bouncy curls
- Pull up the hair into a very sexy but loose French roll, and secure with bobby pins
- Randomly pull pieces of hair around the face to soften and create romance
- Spray, very lightly, some hairspray, try schwarzkopf got2b hairspray - smells great and has a medium hold
- Keep face fresh with soft peach cheeks, pale taupe washed eyes and nude lips
Til next time,

p.s. Miss Phillip has informed me that the movie Coco avant Chanel is due for release in Australia on the 25th of June. Pen this into your diaries girls and boys!
Midnight Leather
After hitting my sister’s car into a wall- I was in no position to spend… until I found something that caught my eye- quickly grabbing the size 8- I tried it on, the fit was perfect. However after incurring an estimated $1500 worth of damages I felt begrudgingly guilty, if not- utterly undeserving. Have it as you may, it’s Andrews and I 2 years anniversary and being the great boyfriend he is- he was more than happy to buy it for me… Feeling spoilt- I could not fight my want for it- and my fear that one day I will regret not purchasing!

*The leather jacket was a mink pink tuxedo style- rrp $240.00- quiet friendly considering the economic climate and the fact that the jacket is pure genuine leather!

*The leather jacket was a mink pink tuxedo style- rrp $240.00- quiet friendly considering the economic climate and the fact that the jacket is pure genuine leather!
* The interesting thing about the jacket is that it has no zipper, no buttons- no elements of metal or shiny glimmering pieces and those who know me- know I’m attracted to things that sparkle...
It reminded me a lot of the Lisa Ho leathers, I use to lust over. The $1500 price tag was a major deterrent considering my struggling uni student income. Lisa Ho 09 Autumn/Winter range show cased a similar (though much more stunning) leather that I for the moment can only dream of owning- then again my money going to repairs could’ve covered it *cringe…
If you’re interested in mink pink, www.aboutagirl.com.au sells and delivers all around Australia (and overseas can be negotiated)- the prices are nice and affordable, and if you subscribe you receive 10% off all purchase- I’ve been obsessed since Miss L introduced it to me x)
Leather jackets have been aroud since 07- why the obsession? 2 words- functionality & fashionable ... need i or anyone else say more ?
Hugs and Kisses,
Miss C

Pantsy that!
After patiently waiting for some time, Lady Luck was on my side and I finally received my $900 stimulus package from the Government on Friday.I gleefully promised I would spend it as advised by Mr Rudd... so being a sensible and good little girl I paid off some of my credit card debt and then naturally... I went out on a SHOPPING SPREE!!!
But of course I wanted to help stimulate the economy by supporting those struggling fellow Australians - so I hit the Glebe Markets (http://www.glebemarkets.com.au/) for the first time.
The market was absolutely amazing! I am tres jealous of miss maria who lives basically across the road where the markets are held!
I picked up about 10 items of clothing as well as a few presents for my mother, my bfs mother as well as the cutest elephant necklace for my sister as a good luck present for her HSC for all under $150!

But my prized purchase of the day definitely has to be my new Stellino (http://stellino.com.au/) hammer/harlem pants - made of a gorgeous crepe with this fabulous button detail on the side I was absolutely ecstatic! Although I did pay $50 for it - it was totally worth as I probably would not have found them for any less else where especially with that kind of quality!
I also bought a pale pink caplet for a tiny $10 from local designer Magdalena Duma (http://magdalenaduma.com/) which just looks so classic and makes me feel as if I'm channeling some Miss Catherine from Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights.Amazingly I still have a bit of money left - So I'm saving it for a rainy day, but I am curious to what everyone who received the extra money has done with it.
So Miss L is asking...
What have you done with your $900 government stimulus package?
What have you done with your $900 government stimulus package?
or if you had an extra $900 - how would you spend it?
We would love to know so please leave us all the fancy things you've done in the comment section below!Til next time,

For the love of glossy paper!
I do ardently love a beautifully put together and thoughtful magazine...
So when my RUSSH magazine did not come on the said day this month - as my RUSSH calendar said it would... naturally I panicked!
After all that trouble, RUSSH May/June 09 was no disappointment - a clean simple but strong cover had me feeling a slight romanticism from the gorgeous autumn colours mixed with the beautiful Constance Jablonski!
Bi-monthly - makes RUSSH a recession friendy magazine! So don't be the only sour cherry on the fruit stand and check out one of my most loved magazines!
Love,
Miss L

p.s.
I FINALLY managed to grab a hold of Issue #9 of Lula Magazine (S/S 09) featuring Chanel Iman on the cover - I was lucky enough to have the nicest guy from Boarder's set it aside for me! Thank you Cameron from Chatswood Boarder's!!! You are really the sweetest!
And yes I am one of those crazy magazine subscribers who will write impatient emails to the magazine subscription company that organises her subscriptions if they do not arrive in her letter box on the said release date...
So when my RUSSH magazine did not come on the said day this month - as my RUSSH calendar said it would... naturally I panicked!
My mind flashed to the thought that perhaps my subscription had ceased! But I was sure Miss Phillip who had purchased it for my 21st birthday (god bless his cotton socks!), had lovingly purchased a 24 month subscription! Shifting through my old emails was such a pain but alas yes - a 24 month subscription was in place and so i decided to take action and email!
And like an IT problem... when I finally recieved word that i should have it by the end on the week... it was sitting in my mail box waiting for me =(
After all that trouble, RUSSH May/June 09 was no disappointment - a clean simple but strong cover had me feeling a slight romanticism from the gorgeous autumn colours mixed with the beautiful Constance Jablonski!
I honestly do not want to ruin the experience by spoiling this magazine as you really do need to purchase it at your local newsagncy or at least flick through it to see what I mean!
