Heavy

I love Florence+theMachine and have witnessed her in her full glory at a gig earlier this year at the Metro I basically pledged my crazy fan-girl love to her... so when I heard she wrote a new song for the Twilight: Eclipse soundtrack (terrible film; great soundtracks) - I knew I had to let me ears have a listen...
I was not disappointed at all. I love Florence.

Follow the link to listen to 'Heavy in your Arms'

Enjoy,

A French Phoenix

Although both myself and Miss C are in critical MIA (missing in action) due to the quick creep of end of semester exams - I couldn't help but post about the new Phoenix album, Wolfgang Amadeus... one of the short list of thing getting me through such a troubling time, *whinger - I know!*

Top 3 favourite tracks on the album...

1. 1901 - honestly I could just see myself in a jumping castle dancing to this

2. Armistice - loves it!

3. Lisztomania - cruisy song

Check out their myspace to sample their new tunes!

Good luck with exams my missys (?),

Oh!

I think many of you fashionistas have been wondering who does that song in the V Australia ad!

Meet Miss Micky Green, born in the great Oz however now residing in one of fashionable cities of the world, Paris. This Missy has a voice that is reminiscent of the days of the sweet sweet 60's, strong and feminine - making me wish could sing with such a sexy smoothness. Although the song is a few years old - its still sounds fresh especially with a remix update making it a great chill out sunday arvo song.

Love,

YEAH! IT'S BLITZ!

It's finally here! The Yeah Yeah Yeah's third album IT'S BLITZ has finally hit the good ol' shelves, and this New York based band has once again produced music that you could pop on repeat and keep danging to all night long!

It's been three long years since the days of dancing to Gold Lion from the last album Show Your Bones, but now I'm finding myself doing random mini 'frogs in a blender' dances and mini outbursts of 'OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! DANCE TIL WE'RE DEAD!' with Miss Louise all over the office at work and embarrassingly all along Willoughby road in Crows Nest.

My 3 favourite songs off the album definitely have to be...

  1. Heads Will Roll (track 2) - Dance Heavy
  2. Soft Shock (track 3) - Failed Relationship
  3. Hysteric (track 9) - Happiness Again

Now, I could have talked about producers and all that stuff - though I did find out that the album was 'inspired by the '70s disco collaborations between Italian producer Giorgio Moroder and R&B songstress Donna Summer, Joy Division, and, well, Karen O's love of dancing' - but unless you're a total music critic and know your piece of the pie - that stuff's not really important cause at the end of the day you just want to listen to the music!

Buy It's Blitz online now at JB Hi-Fi or on iTunes!

If you need extra justification, pop on your dancing shoes and listen to Heads Will Roll!

Dance dance dance!
Love,

Bat your lashes, there are two suns!

I can't express how excited I am about the release of new Bat for Lashes second album, 'Two Suns'!

Still holding true to sounds produced in Fur and Gold, Two Suns is no disappointment - the haunting lulls of Natasha Khan mixed with instruments that can be only described as eclectic tribal with a modern twist. Teaming up with Brooklyn's finest psychedelic experimentalists Yeasayer, to produce serval tracks featured on the abum as well as the legendary Scott Walker to perform a duet with Natasha for the heart-wrenching torch song and album closer 'The Big Sleep'.

Natasha Khan is truly more than just an echo in the mist...

Check out Bat for Lashes' latest single 'Daniel' here:

Much love,
